What is BC Alert?
The Benton County Alert system is a multi-channel (i.e. SMS, voice, email, etc.)
communication solution that provides lifesaving emergency information.
What types of notifications/messages will I receive from BC Alert?
The BC Alert notification system may be used to alert residents and subscribers
about issues impacting safety, such as tornados, floods, gas leaks, power outages,
and other emergency notifications.
Who can register?
Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in a notification area where BC Alert is
being used can sign up. Visitors or people with family in the notification area may
also register.
How do I register?
Visit the registration portal to sign up for notifications and designate how you would
like to be contacted. To receive text alerts, you must add your SMS (text message)
phone number(s).
Why do I get the pop-up message “Email is already registered” or “Number is
already registered”?
During setup of our system, it is possible that someone has already added contact
data. If you receive one of these messages, simply return to the login screen and
click on "Forgot your Password?". Then use the email or number to receive a
temporary password. The number must be able to receive text messages.
My contact information has changed, how do I update it?
Login to the system portal and go to the page that needs to be updated. For
instance, account or emails, and update your information. Remember to click the
“Update” button when done.

How will I know if a phone call, email, or text (SMS) is coming from our Alerting
System?
Email messages will come from (noreply@genasys.com) and have your Alerting
System name or identity, phone calls will come from 479-271-5738, and text/SMS
messages will use the sender ID 65513. We recommend you create a contact on your
phone with this information.
Do I need to provide an address or location?
Yes, BC Alert is location based. Not having a location in the system will prevent you
from receiving critical weather alerts, such as tornadoes, and other alerts that are
geo-targeted (i.e., location based).
Will my contact information be shared with others?
No, the information you provide will only be used by our system and local admins to
send you alerts. Your contact information will never be sold to an outside entity.
What are some reasons alerts from this alerting system may not be delivered to
me?
● Your contact information is not up to date
● You did not enable the SMS checkbox
● Your phone is off or busy for an extended period
● Your email provider may have placed the email in the spam/junk
folder. Please add (noreply@genasys.com) to your trusted mail list.
It is recommended you have more than one contact method registered.
How do I remove my information from the system?
You can unsubscribe directly from the registration portal Login to the system portal
(shown below) and go to the unsubscribe button, then follow the prompts. This will
delete your contact data from the system.

After the Account information has been completed, use the menu icons on the left
of the account page to add additional information as appropriate:
● Additional emails – home or personal email
● Additional phone numbers – add any additional numbers (alternative cell,
landline, office) that you want notification sent to
● Locations – add your work and home addresses (see next page)
* These icons are on the left side of your
registration screen after sign in.

When adding locations, you will want to give the location a name (ex: Work or Home).
Line 1 = the street address
Line 2 = suite or apt # or may not be needed
Once Line 1, City, and State fields are completed, press the geolocate
button. Confirm the red triangle is in the correct location, then select "Create"

¿Que es BC Alert?
El sistema Benton County Alert es una solución de comunicación multicanal (es decir,

¿Que tipo de notificaciones/mensajes voy a recibir de BC Alert?
El sistema de notificaciones GP Alert se puede utilizar para alertar a residentes y
subscriptores sobre asuntos que puedan tener impacto en la seguridad de las
personas, como pueden ser tornados, inundaciones, fugas de gas, cortes de luz, y
otras notificaciones de emergencias.
¿Quién se puede registrar?
Se puede registrar cualquier persona que viva, trabaje o sea propietario en un área
de notificación en la que se utiliza GP Alert. También se pueden suscribir Visitantes o
personas con familiares en la zona de notificación.
¿Como me registro?
Entra en el portal de registro para suscribirte a notificaciones y designar como desea
ser contactado. Para recibir mensajes de texto SMS, debe agregar su número(s)
telefónico(s).
¿Porque me salta el mensaje “Email is already registered” o “Number is already
registered”?
Es posible que alguien haya agregado tus datos de contacto durante la provisión del
sistema. Si recibes uno de estos mensajes, vuelve a la pantalla inicial y haz click en
"Forgot your Password?".
Luego, utiliza tu correo electrónico o número de teléfono
para recibir una contraseña temporal. El teléfono facilitado debe ser capaz de recibir
mensajes por SMS.

¿Mis datos de contacto han cambiado. Como hago para actualizarlos?
Entra en el sistema con tu usuario y contraseña y ve a la página que precisa cambios.
Por ejemplo, cuenta o email, y actualiza tu información. Recuerda hacer click en
“Update” cuando acabes.
¿Como sabré si una llamada, email o mensaje de texto viene de nuestro Sistema
de Alertas?
Los mensajes de correo vendrán de (noreply@genasys.com) y tendrán el nombre o
identidad de tu sistema de Alertas. Las llamadas mostrarán un identificador de
llamada con código y prefijo local y los mensajes de texto/SMS, tendrán el número
65513 como remitente. Es recomendable crear un contacto en la agenda de tú
teléfono con esta información.
¿Necesito introducir una dirección o ubicación?
No es requerido proveer una dirección o ubicación. Sin embargo, no introducir
información de localización impedirá que te sean enviadas alertas climatológicas
como tornados, así como otras alertas de carácter geo-localizadas.
¿Se comparten mis contactos con terceros?
No. la información introducida solo es utilizada por nuestro sistema y los
administradores locales para enviarte alertas. Tu información de contacto nunca
será vendida a una entidad externa.

¿Por qué razones podría no llegar una alerta?
● Tu información de contacto no está actualizada
● No se ha habilitado la opción de SMS
● Tu teléfono está apagado, fuera de cobertura u ocupado por un período
extendido de tiempo
● Tu proveedor de cuenta de correo ha enviado el correo a la carpeta spam
o Basura. Por favor, agrega (noreply@genasys.com) a tu lista de correos de
confianza.
Se recomienda registrar más de un método de contacto.
¿Como elimino mi información del sistema?
Puedes cancelar la subscripción directamente desde el portal de registro. Entra en el
sistema con tu usuario contraseña como se muestra en las imágenes y selecciona
“Unsubscribe” del menú. Luego sigue las instrucciones. Siguiendo estas instrucciones,
se borrarán tus datos de contacto de la plataforma.

Una vez completada la información de la cuenta, utiliza el menú de la izquierda
para agregar información adicional:
● Emails Adicionales – correos electrónicos de casa, u otros
● Teléfonos Adicionales – agrega números de teléfonos adicionales (móvil
alternativo, teléfono fijo, oficina) donde quieras recibir notificaciones
● Localizaciones – agrega direcciones de casa y/o trabajo

tu pantalla de registro, luego de entrar

Cuando agregas ubicaciones, es recomendable nombrarlo
(ej: Trabajo o Casa).
Línea 1 = Dirección (calle, y número)
Línea 2 = opcional: número de puerta, departamento, planta, etc.
Una vez completados los campos Línea 1, Ciudad y Estado, presiona el botón de
geolocalización (Geolocalizar). Confirma que el triángulo rojo tiene la ubicación
correcta en el mapa y selecciona “Añadir Localización”
